In 1998 the Greek Archaeological Service found at the edge of the Kossinthos river 2 burial pythoi, that were dated in the beginning of the 8th c. BC. In this area they found pottery sherds from the EBA. The research in the surface of this area was continued until 2002 and they collected only pottery. In 2003 an excavation took place in the area and the excavators revealed 7 tombs of the EIA.
