Goals

- a digital database of all the material remains of the Early Iron and Early Archaic Ages.
- an interactive website of all the data, combining GIS applications.
- articles in peer-reviewed international journals both by the principal investigator and the members of the research team on various research questions examined within the frame of the project.
- an English monograph entitled The Social Archaeology of Early Iron Age and Early Archaic Greece.
Following the completion of the project the scholarly world will not only have at its disposal the totality of the known data concerning the material culture of early 1st millennium BC, but also a full and updated account of the period through the prism of modern approaches, both on a theoretical (social anthropology, gender studies, bioarchaeology and archaeometry) and “technological” level (using GIS applications, 3D reconstructions, quantitative methods and through the creation of an interactive website). Indeed, the aim of the project is to collect and make use all the available interdisciplinary data related to the period.
