The cemetery has been first discovered by the soldiers of the Armée de l'Orient in 1918. The first excavation took place in 1919. During this campaign, 25 graves were explored. No information is provided for Graves 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, 14, 21 and 22. The second excavation campaign took place in 1993 by the Greek Archaeological Service and led to the discovery of 25 graves. In total, 49 inhumations (33 cist graves, 16 enchytrismoi in pithos and pyravnos) and 1 secondary cremation in urn were found. The graves of the first excavation have been published in detail. In 1993, 4 deposits with bronze jewellery not associated with graves were found outside of the graves, possibly originating from destroyed graves or ritual deposits.
