The cemetery of Ag. Hristoforos is considered to be connected with the ancient city of Gazoros. Part of the 7th c. BC cemetery was excavated in September of 2004. A total of 15 graves was uncovered: 6 cist graves and 9 cairn graves. Only the cist graves were used for more than one burials. The majority of the burials have inhumations with the exception of one cremation. The orientation of the bodies is determined by sex. The graves are clustered in parallel rows (one of which is adjacent to a stone enclosure). Clusters may indicate burying of the dead within family groups. The grave goods are placed inside the burials. Grave goods include pottery (pithoi, amphorae, kantharos-shaped vessels, kylikes, cups, prochoi, skyphoi), weapons, jewellery (many types of bronze jewelry known mostly from central Macedonia are included) and few weaving tools. The cemetery is known from a preliminary article. No anthropological study has been conducted yet.
