The Sanctury of Dioskouroi is in close proximity to the north side of Temenos of Apollo, but it is not referenced in any ancient written source. The identification of the sanctuary is based on some pottery fragments, which carry votive inscription to Dioskouroi. Pottery finds place the origins of the cult shortly after the founding of Naukratis. According to Petrie and Gardner the temple of Dioskouroi is likely contemporary with the second temple of Apollo (530–520/10 BC), consequently the sanctury was found much earlier than its temple.
