The earliest evidence at the site dates to the MH III/LH I-IIB/IIIA period. Pottery covers the entire prehistoric era until the LH IIIC indicating that the site was of special importance for the local population since the prehistoric era. The clay figurines suggest that the earliest cult activities date to the early 7th c. and they can be located in the area of the later temple. A cultic use of the area since the prehistoric period has not been rejected.
